Helen M. David of Houston,
Texas has enjoyed the fascinating
"World of Dollhouse Miniatures" for
more than 30 years.
She was born in Kittery, Maine, but
spent most of her early years in
Virginia and South Carolina where
she received extensive training as a
professional florist. The skills and
techniques that she learned as a
florist are used in the development
and fabrication of each miniature
floral arrangement that she does
today.
While designing and fabricating
floral arrangements has been
Helen's main interest over the
years, she is also well known for her
historically correct reproduction of
antique trunks and cases that have
fitted interiors and are handcrafted
from exotic woods, leather and
reptile skins.
She joined the National Association
of Miniature Enthusiasts in 1976 and
in the same year founded her
company, Smaller Than A Breadbox.
Helen is a Founding Member of The
American Museum of the Miniature
Arts and is an IGMA Fellow in The
Category of Flowers.
